Yes, files with different sample rates can be merged. The tool re-encodes all input audio to a common MP3 format, which normalizes sample rates automatically. However, for the highest quality output, it's best to use source files with matching sample rates (e.g., all 44.1 kHz or all 48 kHz) to avoid unnecessary resampling artifacts.

There is a small quality reduction since the output is re-encoded as MP3. If your source files are already MP3, re-encoding introduces one additional generation of lossy compression. For critical quality, start with lossless sources (WAV or FLAC) whenever possible. The output bitrate you choose also affects the final quality - 192 kbps or higher is recommended for music.

After uploading your files, use the up and down arrow buttons to reorder them. The files are merged in the exact order shown in the list, from top to bottom. You can also remove individual files and re-upload them if needed. Take time to arrange the order before clicking merge.

The total combined file size of all audio files must be under 500MB. Since all processing happens in your browser's memory, very large files may slow down the merge process. For long recordings (e.g., multi-hour podcasts), consider splitting the work into smaller batches and merging progressively.

The current tool merges audio files back-to-back without gaps. If you need silence between clips, you can create a short silent audio file and include it between your clips in the merge order. Alternatively, record a few seconds of silence and add it as a separate file in your merge queue.
